ABOUT
Boston-based illustrator and photographer Dana Smith is a widely published magazine artist both nationally and overseas. His work appears in publications such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, Time, The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Stern, Le Monde, MIT's Technology Review, Nature Science Journal, Boston Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, and Yankee. He also works with many universities including Harvard, Boston College, Brown, Northeastern, Radcliffe, and Dartmouth. His work has been showcased in American Photography and Communication Arts. In addition to his vast editorial background, he has the daily grind of 10 years of newspaper photojournalism experience behind him. A veteran in the business, he is quite accustomed to the challenges of scheduling time-constrained subjects, finding & securing locations, and meeting tight (and ever-shifting) deadlines. As a photographer he was affiliated with the legendary Black Star agency for 15 years. Smith teaches numerous workshops and was an instructor at the New England School of Photography in Boston for 20 years, residing as the chair of the Editorial Department.
